Key It Simple

You know it. You know you are having a difficult time in choosing the appropriate gift especially when your company or department organised a function/event and where one of the closing ceremony activities will be a gift exchange among colleagues and respective teams. I had been through this and witnessed this myself before.

I remember back then, when I was doing my internship 3 years ago, there was a Welcoming Party for the new joiners. Since I was an intern, I figured out that I might ended up feeling lost and out of place hence, I went MIA. After all, as far as I knew only a few interns who actually bothered to participate. To avoid any awkward situations, I instead joined the discussion with my team for the gift preparation.

I remember vividly that period was quite stressful for some of them as they did not know what to expect and what was the benchmark or minimal requirement when giving a gift to a colleague. Of course, when one works in a corporate world, everyone strives so hard to avoid creating any awkward moments that could potentially embarrass someone. Because ‘what goes around, comes around’. You know what I mean.

On a side note, recently I received this packaging from Key It Simple. They are notable for their Swiss Knife Style Premium Key Organiser.

Honestly, when I fist heard of this, I thought it’s some kind of a swiss knife and that’s about it. Initially, I was quite hesitant in accepting this project. Later did I know that, the tiny device could offer more than that.

Recently, the brand had launched an additional accessory which now allows you to carry the standard amount of keys. Extension Screw at a mere RM 5.00, you can now carry as many as 10-20 keys. Comparatively, the previous standard Key It Simple only allows one to store 6-8keys at one compact place. Either way, it still helps to prevent scratches to your wallet and phone when you put into your pocket and handbag etc.

If only I have came across to this product earlier, I would have recommended this to my team and seniors. Because one, it is extremely practical for working adults and two, the design is so chic, trendy and unusual that nobody would have given the most accurate wild guess that it’s a key organiser. Hence, something really relevant and applicable when you have a gift exchange in your department or perhaps incorporate this as a door gift in any special events.

Last call

Wassup guys, welcome back to my blog! Okay I know this is kinda random but ever wonder what’s the secret to success? Well of course, besides hard work, commitment, friends and family support etc, there will be other means or techniques that you need to equip yourself in order to achieve your goals in life. The ordinary typical answer which will be given by everyone in general, will be always start off with a positive mind, leading a healthy lifestyle, have a balanced diet, do not overly stressed yourself, remember to relax and chill. Nonetheless, I have something rather special for you *drum roll*. Introducing Pharmaton!!!!

What on earth???!! Pharmaton???!! Yes I am sober while typing this (not that I drink) LOL. Pharmaton is a dietary supplement developed and produced by Boehringer Ingelheim, a German based company founded in the late 1800s. According to the manufacturer itself, Pharmaton contains compounds that help to alleviate fatigue, relieve stress and prevent physical and mental unfavourable conditions caused by old age, illness or poor diet. Its Swiss formulation, all in one supplement capsule contains the essential vitamins and minerals that are crucial for our body as well as the renowned Ginseng Extract G115®. The latter has been clinically proven to improve productivity and increased physical energy performance, just with the consumption of 1 capsule daily.

As far as I am aware of, Pharmaton is available primarily in North Africa and the Middle East and comes in varieties for adults, athletes, children, and pregnant women. However, the common tagline that we hear in Malaysia is, ‘Pharmaton – the No.1 adult multivitamin brand in Malaysia’. This indeed is a very plausible statement. How many of you do actually believe in such statement on ads? A handful of people out there will comment that all these are one of the marketing gimmicks. Personally to me, I feel like one should not mention or question much before gauging on something even before you try on them. This is be pretty unfair to the party involved. So yeah…

Anyway, back to the story, the purpose of me writing this up is I would like to highlight this initiative  of theirs which I think is worth mentioning. Recently, Pharmaton has launched an initiative aimed at rewarding Malaysians for their outstanding achievements in 2016 and giving them the tools to fulfil their goals this 2017. Pharmaton recognises that acknowledgement is easily forgotten after one has achieved a specific target. Hence, Pharmaton rolled out a campaign call ‘Reward Your Achievement’ which encourages Malaysians to reflect on their achievements in 2016 and honour their victory as well as inspiring and motivating them in fulfilling their resolutions for 2017.

To Pharmaton, it does not really matter which aspect in life that one would like to focus on, set targets and then, achieve them. Be it in professional careers, self development, building meaningful relationships or simple aspiration like eating better, picking up a new hobby, spending more time with family & friends or quitting a bad habit/addiction. What’s essential is one has the burning desire in self improvement by being responsible and accountable for one’s life and well being. There is a famous quote which I totally agree ie. You are the author of your own life story where one should own it when faced with success or failure. It does not matter how well your score is nor how terribly high you have fallen. What is important is your endurance, resilient and not forgetting that success do not occur every time.

In conjunction with this belief/notion, Pharmaton had organised a really fun contest to vibrant Malaysians out there valid from 1st January 2017 to 31st March 2017. In order to participate in this, ‘Reward Your Achievement’ contest, all you need to do is pick up a form at any participating retail outlets when purchase a minimum RM30.00 worth of Pharmaton products. And tell us why you deserve to win the contest in less than 30 words. All responses can then be dropped in the collection box at the respective retail store or simply Whatsapp at 017 235 2960. The ones with the most creative feedback win!

Thereafter, 15 Malaysians will be sponsored by Pharmaton in assisting them to achieve their 2017 goals. The winners will be given the option to select the area of their interest that is related to  health, self development, pamper and travel. The most exciting part is that ONE of these 15 winners will stand a chance to win a special cookout session experience with celebrity chef and Pharmaton’s brand ambassador, Sherson Lian.

Bear in mind that the whole objective of having this agenda is to reward people out there who has exerted so much of hard work and commitment in achieving their dreams. As these people absolutely deserve something in return. Well not just these 15 people but literally everyone is entitled to – believe me! If only we have sufficient resources I am positive that everyone will be recognised and remunerated. To know more about the contest and comprehending the T&Cs, kindly visit at http://www.pharmaton.com.my.

So what are you waiting for guys???!! Pick up the form, be creative and lets get going. I am as excited as all of your and really looking forward for the announcement of the 15 winners!!!! Stay tune and log onto their website for more information. Cheers!!!! =)

Slappy Cakes Food Review

Greetings everyone! Today’s post is somewhat rare than my usuals. Nothing on make up, emotions, mental health etc. I am blogging about my personal experience in a food review event which I attended recently.

What an honoured! I was being invited to Slappy Cakes’ new cafe location ceremony in Malaysia. It was previously based in Publika, Solaris Dutamas in Kuala Lumpur and now, they have moved to Sunway Pyramid.

Just a quick history background about this eatery – Slappy Cakes is  family owned and was firstly operated in Portland, USA back in 2009.

history
Portland, Oregon – Original Location

Since then, it has been massively featured in America’s Cooking Channel ie. Rachel Ray and was awarded the title of “America’s Best” by Food Network’s Alton Brown as one of America’s top ten destinations.

What is even more exciting is that now Slappy Cakes has franchises all over South East Asia from Singapore to Malaysia and all the way up to Bangkok and The Philippines. Hence, SEA diners out there fret not as you are not going to be missed out this time!

I bet many of you might wonder what Slappy Cakes has had to offer and what is it so special that everyone is raving about. Before I dive into the good stuff about this cafe, lemme introduce you an array selection of hot food and beverages it serves throughout the day.

In Slappy Cakes, one of the most desirable dish during breakfast will be their ‘Classic Breakfast’. At a price of RM 25,  you will get 2 eggs, some potatoes with fresh salad, grilled tomatoes, turkey bacon, chicken sausage, sourdough and baked beans. Sounds like a whole hearty breakfast which will keep one satisfy till your teatime!

thumb_img_4617_1024

Besides the classic old school english breakfast, another dish that is highly recommended by the kitchen is the Slappy Benedict. At just RM 26, you’ll get a homemade freshly baked English muffin served with sauteed baby spinach, turkey ham, mushroom, tomato garlic puree, two poached eggs (wobbling on each side of the muffin) and drizzled with their famous hollandaise sauce. On top of that, one will also get a side of grilled potatoes to complement the dish.

Next up, on to their main course. They have a wide range of pasta for you to choose. From the typical Carbonara Spaghetti up to a mixed fusion of Creamy Curry Chicken Spaghetti in order to please one’s Malaysian tastebud.

However, if you are on a no carbs diet and a meat lover, I reckon you go for their Combo Set. This dish is legitimately the bomb as you get to indulge in different types of meat just in one seating. The Combo Set comprised of lamb chop, crumbles fish, grilled chicken chop, chicken sausage, battered fries, mixed salad and a side of their sweet pancakes. Also, to top it off, one can have 3  different types of sauces to dip and eat with your meat – tartar sauce, mustard mint sauce, and mushroom sauce. Sounds legit!!

And NOW is the moment of truth which everyone is waiting for *drum rolls*……

Presenting the good stuff about Slappy Cakes is their signature pancakes!!! Nope, this is not any ordinary pancakes which most of the time you eat in cafes, as you get to DIY pancakes from scratch! How amazing is that???!!! Yes I can ensure you that you are not dreaming in fact, nobody is. Patrons get to choose to make their own pancakes just by following these 5 simple rules:

#Rule 1 – Batter up which you can pick your favourite flavours. In Malaysia, there are 4 different flavours available: Buttermilk, Peanut butter, Chocolate and Pandan. FYI, all these ingredients are made from scratch and locally sourced which promotes sustainability.

#Rule 2 – Make pancakes. In this step, one just need to be creative and bold to express themselves. Diners get to go crazy with different fun shapes and sizes when making their pancakes on the built-in griddles.

#Rule 3 – Add fixins. One get to choose your own combination of sweet or savoury fixins & toppings.

#Rule 4 – Flip! Bubbles will start to form around the edges of your pancake and once they pop, it’s ready to flip over using the spatula given.

#Rule 5 – Eat! Your pancake should take 2 to 3 minutes to finish cooking after flipping. Add additional toppings if you want to and get your belly ready to indulge.

A smiley pancake a day, keeps your blue away xx

Well to me personally, I really like the idea of making your pancakes at your own table. This bizarre concept totally brings our dining experience to a whole new level. You know how food could really gather all your family members and friends together? But this one right here is a bonus where you get to make/cook and eat your food with your loved ones which makes the experience more memorable, special and precious.

To be really honest with you, I’m not a fan of having pancakes (unless I crave for one) and eating out. I prefer preparing and having my own meals at home but of course, there are days where I feel like going on a binge from one cafe to another. LOL. Admit it guys, we are all humans! The reason why I am so picky in my food is because most of the time, I’m on a vegetarian or vegan diet. But what I really love about this restaurant is the concept that is so different and extraordinary from any typical cafes/restaurants. I would say the whole process of making and feasting on the pancakes is very much interactive which will somehow enhance your friendship and relationship.

And now, since it’s the festive season which is the best time of the year for me, I suggest one should consider Slappy Cakes as one of your dining spot if you are around the neighbourhood.  I promise you will not regret a single bit as I did have a good time in making those pancakes! Till then, take care lovelies see you in my next post xoxo

Once again, thank you so much for having me! @slappycakes

There is still hope though you are at the end of a dark tunnel

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog!!! Sorry for such a long overdue post. Been caught up with work and moving in etc etc. Sorry do cure, am I right? *I hope so* This time round, I am blogging something really different and special. Is not about Beauty, Fashion, Food or whatsoever. Is more of a personal true experience which I would love to share and impart to my viewers out there. Hopefully, you will find this helpful =)

Last 2 weeks I was back in Sydney to attend my graduation ceremony. Now, I can call myself as an official 2015 graduate of Usyd and give myself a pat on my back. I swear I was feeling on top of the world on that auspicious day. It will definitely make a difference if my boyfriend was there but somehow, he managed to make his presence existent. How thoughtful and sweet of him. If you are reading this, thank you so much for making it happened!!! But, what I really want to share in this post are the emotions, thoughts and struggles that I went through to get that piece of certificate.

Tbh, I wasn’t really feeling proud, delighted nor excited for finally graduating and finishing uni. Probably, the feeling had sunk in as I finished my finals in November last year. However, one thing that I know is I will definitely appreciate and keep reminiscing my 3 years of uni life and it will be sealed in my treasure box deep down in my heart. I couldn’t be more grateful and thankful for all the people who helped and supported me for all the disheartening, heart breaking and ugly moments that I need to go through. If it is not because of them I wouldn’t have made it and be who am I today!!! Sounds typical where everyone has a ‘fairy godmother’ in banishing their dark spells but think of it, how many of us actually do seek for help, tell the truth and most importantly persevere (though you know that you are absolutely different from the rest).

Life is never a bed full of roses. Is not that I am completely ok right now. I am still learning, adapting and coping. Learning just does not stop here, is definitely a life long process. I have yet to come to terms in accepting my flaws and weaknesses but I am definitely better today! If you are struggling or feeling not okay, it does not mean that you are weak and the only possible solution would be jumping off the cliff. Trust me, I did come to that stage. I guess is normal for everyone to feel that way as human beings have emotions, feelings and thoughts and sometimes they are so out of controlled and messed up. On the other hand, there are also people out there who are doing fine. So, whether you are feel alright or not it does not place you permanently in a position of an indicator. It changes in terms of its significance and it maneuvers.

I came across to this quote from nakedwithanxiety Instagram account, ‘You know what? Life does not get better. You do. You get better’. This quote definitely made me ponder. Reflecting all the bad and difficult memories I had back then, if only I had the chance to completely understand this concept I would have been happier and spent my time on more meaningful stuff rather than breaking down and having all the stupid negative self-talks. Fortunately, things did get better and better as time progressed and here, I would like to emphasize that struggles do not mean you are weak and being weak do not mean you are pathetic. Often, I remind myself that these dreadful moments will pass even till today, I am still doing this! But, I certainly know that there are so much more for me to learn and improve to be a better me and to treat others better.

Remember peeps, your journey just does not stop here and I am pretty sure there will be more ups and downs in the future (A reminder to myself too). Therefore, do not think you are unimportant and just a friendly reminder, if you do not want to feel belittled then, don’t ever say or do harsh things on people. Be mindful of your words and actions because I do believe on the notion of, ‘What goes around comes around’. Cheers!
